Published for the Marine Biological Association of the United Kingdom JMBA is an international journal with a worldwide distribution publishing original research on all aspects of marine biology. It includes current international research developments and features much of the pioneering work taking place today on major issues concerning marine organisms and their environment. Subjects covered include: ecological surveys and population studies of oceanic coastal and shore communities; physiology and experimental biology; taxonomy morphology and life history of marine animals and plants; and chemical and physical oceanographic work which relates closely to the biological environment. Papers are also published on the rapidly developing techniques employed at sea for the sampling recording capture and observation of marine organisms and chemical analyses of sea water. JMBA is produced from a working marine laboratory by scientists actively involved in research.
