Tribology International provides up-to-date information on the science, practice and technology of lubrication, wear prevention and friction control. This multidisciplinary field is approached from a practical standpoint, equipping designers, research and development engineers, mechanical and lubrication engineers, managers and scientists with the information that will enable them to minimize the cost of moving parts. Thus machinery can be made more efficient, more reliable and more cost effective.Tribology International is an archival journal which aims to publish high quality original papers. These should encompass the best fundamental and applied science with an emphasis on its application to the finest engineering practice. The scope includes all aspects of science, technology and engineering which have relevance to tribology. This is also reflected in the publication of conference reports, book reviews, editorials, special issues, laboratory reports, news and letters.Index bound in last issue of calendar year. This journal is now included in the new online alerting service - Structural Integrity Alert - which forms part of the Structural Integrity Network The International Conference on Wear of Materials (WOM) is a series of meetings held every 2 years, administratively managed and underwritten by Elsevier Science on behalf of WOM Incorporated. The conference scope is sure to be of interest to readers of both Tribology International and Wear. All interested researchers in wear, tribology and related fields are invited to submit a paper to the next WOM and/or attend as a delegate. A hardbound copy of the fully peer-reviewed Proceedings of WOM'99 is available. Authors interested in erosive and abrasive wear may be interested to know about the fully peer-reviewed hardbound Proceedings of ICEAW incorporating ELSI IX.
