The purpose of the Journal of Vibration and Acoustics is to serve as a vehicle for the communication of original research results of permanent interest in the area of application of physical principles of acoustics to the solution of noise control problems, and the uses of acoustics in industrial and medical application. Papers published by the journal are full length articles of considerate depth. The journal also presents Tech Briefs, which are intended to serve as a means for the rapid communication of recent developments in an abridged form. Specific topic areas covered include: vibration suppression;non-linear vibration; modal analysis; structural dynamics and control; mechanical signatures; rotor dynamics; vibration control; passive and active damping; random vibration; acousic emission; active noise control; machinery noise; flow induced noise and vibration; and machinery dynamics.
