Journal of Tropical Ecology established in 1985 publishes articles arising from original research or reviews in the field of tropical ecology. It has an emphasis on terrestrial communities and ecosystems largely investigated by empirical studies and involving evolutionary population-level and ecophysiological considerations. Improvement of the quantitative and statistical side of ecological science in the tropics is an important aim.
