Founded in 1890 the journal is devoted to research in mathematics in its broadest sense. Research papers on topics in algebra real and complex analysis topology dynamical systems functional analysis geometry locally compact groups number theory and other fields are published mostly in English but papers in French and German are also accepted. Surveys of significant developments in the fields of pure and applied mathematics and mathematical physics may be occasionally inclueded. The journal is of interest to research mathematicians in all areas of mathematics.
