目前,磁共振是肿瘤、心脏病及脑血管疾病早期筛查的利器。不久前,GE全球研究中心的科学家们曾经以菠萝为例为我们示范了核磁共振仪的工作原理。

当菠萝进入核磁共振仪后,一个巨大的磁场会让其中的质子排着队围绕与磁场一致的轴心转动。然后,磁共振仪用某种特定频率的射频脉冲向它们发出短促的能量,这个菠萝里的每个原子核都会因此发生磁共振,电脑会根据菠萝磁共振产生的信号确定哪里是果肉,哪里是叶子。


同样地,当这项技术作用于你的头部时,它可以径直看到大脑内部,如果你此时突然想到自己最喜欢的菜、书或人,它甚至能看到你大脑的哪一部分会因此发生变化。但与此同时,你的脑袋也会置身于高达110分贝的噪音环境。

同样是电流和磁石的组合,一台磁共振成像扫描仪就像是一个特大版的扬声器,会因为工作时的振动发出震耳欲聋的噪音。

对于忧心忡忡病患来说,忍受着病痛的折磨、面临尚且未知的疾病带来的恐惧,核磁检查时长达半小时到一小时的持续噪音无疑增加了病人的忧虑、紧张;对一些幽闭恐惧症、抑郁症患者而言,这对他们脆弱敏感的神经更是雪上加霜。而对于需要每天面对磁共振仪的医生,他们在应对超高强度工作的同时,也不免长时间暴露在高分贝噪声中。

不堪其扰,人们都“想静静”。


大部分磁共振仪的生产商们习惯用泡沫或橡胶来包裹机器以降低噪音,医生们也会要求患者带上耳塞后再行检查。然而,这都只是掩盖而已。

GE的科学家们希望从源头解决问题,让核磁共振本身基本不再产生噪音。

他们开发了一种名为“静音磁共振”的新技术,通过对硬件和软件的优化,让电流更流畅、稳定,从而减缓振动,大大降低由此产生的噪音。不仅如此,GE还采用了一项全新的3D采集和重建技术“Silenz”,确保图像精准,提高病灶检出率,同时改善了患者在接受磁共振检查时的体验和舒适程度。

静音磁共振能够实现零噪声检查,就像从疯狂的摇滚乐变成了和缓低语,几乎不会让人产生不适感。医生和患者们再也不用忍受嘈杂的噪声,可以在舒适、安宁的环境中工作、接受检查。
