The Journal of Strain Analysis publishes learned papers, technical notes and correspondence relating to any aspect of Engineering Design that involves the analysis and/or measurement of stress and/or strain, or studies of the relevant material properties and failure modes. The following topics list is given for guidance and is not exclusive: Experimental techniques: diffraction methods, electrical methods, optical techniques (e.g. holographic and speckle pattern interferometry, moiré, caustics, photoelasticity), thermography and thermoelastic stress analysis, ultrasonic and magnetic techniques, digital pattern analysis, strain sensors; Numerical/analytical techniques: finite element studies, boundary element studies, theoretical treatments; Material behaviour: creep, recovery relaxation, elasticity, fatigue, fracture/fracture mechanics, plasticity, damage assessment, remnant life assessment.
