Queueing Systems: Theory and Applications (QUES) was started to meet the need of researchers in this area for a journal devoted to queueing systems. While these researchers did not find it particularly hard to publish their papers in established journals it was felt that publication in a specialized journal would give them greater professional visibility and also establish a firm identity for queueing theory within the domain of applied probability. QUES has developed into the definitive journal on queueing systems commanding the support and loyalty of the international community of queueing researchers. QUES will continue to make every effort to deserve their support and loyality maintaining its status as a scholarly journal promoting communication between disciplines and exacting in its scientific and publication standards.
