The Northeastern Naturalist is a broad-focus journal for northeastern North America and is envisioned as our region's equivalent of the Southwestern Field Naturalist, the American Midland Naturalist, and the Canadian Field Naturalist. There are currently many excellent journals for specialists. There is, however, no major publication that serves as an in-depth source of information for an audience interested in the overall classical natural history of northeastern North America. The Northeastern Naturalist serves this purposes. Publication of the Humboldt Field Research Institute.
