Astronomische Nachrichten founded in 1821 by H.C. Schumacher is the oldest astronomical journal worldwide still being published. Famous astronomical discoveries and important papers on astronomy and astrophysics published in more than 300 volumes of the journal give an outstanding representation of the progress of astronomical research over the last 170 years. Today Astronomische Nachrichten continues to publish original manuscripts on all fields of astronomy and astrophysics and review papers on special and current topics. The journal covers a wide range of issues reaching from cosmology extragalactic research cosmic hydrodynamics stellar physics interstellar matter solar and planetary physics to geodetic astronomy. All papers submitted ar peer-reviewed by an outstanding international Advisory Board comprising of renowned experts.
