Building Research & Information is a bimonthly, international, refereed journal serving all practitioners and clients in the design, construction and property sectors. Unique to the Journal is a comprehensive remit to bring together ideas, developments, demonstration projects, case studies, innovative practices, feedback and to stimulate discussion and debate across the spectrum of design, material, construction, organisational, environmental, market, user and research management topics. The Journal is an established international network for all those (individuals, companies and organizations) involved as creators or users of research, innovation and best practice. To maintain high quality in the Journal, all papers undergo a rigorous system of peer review by acknowledged international experts. BRI is tracked by independent citation index for its impact and BRI papers also listed in various abstract and keyword services. The Journal brings together current issues from around the world and aims to make a range of material accessible to all: from in-depth original research papers, reviews of projects and case studies to information on current research projects; comments on previous contributions; discussions on the wider context of research, innovation and education policies and strategies along with a diary of international events. Detailed topics include design strategies; usability and adaptability; feedback for the design team, client and contractors; material, component and systems performance; alternative and new technologies; organizational, management and resource issues; human factors; environmental and health issues; cost and life cycle issues; buildability; building procurement and selection criteria; sustainability criteria, measurement and practices; risk management; construction law, regulation and governance; management and validation of facilities in use; implementing, managing and practising innovation; visualisation and information technologies; identifying user and/or market needs. Encouraged by numerous professional and learned societies - CIB (International Council for Research and Innovation in Building and Construction), UICB (International Union of Building Centres), RICS (The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors), RIBA (The Royal Institute of British Architects) and IStructE (The Institution of Structural Engineers) - the Journal's rigorous approach to building research, practice, innovation and feedback combined with its international perspective and wide breadth of subject matter make it essential reading.
