Anaesthesiology & Intensive Care Medicine is a journal of the Czech Society of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine and the Czech Society of Intensive Care Medicine. It is published by the Czech Medical Association of J. E. Purkyně. The journal has been in publication since 1990. Until 2002, the journal was published under the name Anaesthesiology and Emergency Medicine, and since 2003, it has been issued under the current name Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine.

The journal accepts the following types of articles for publication in the Czech, Slovak, and English languages: original papers, case reports, and review articles on anaesthesiology, intensive care medicine, pain management, emergency medicine, and resuscitation. The journal provides information on recent advances in related disciplines and on the history of medicine. For interventional studies, an ethics committee approval is required prior to their launch. The journal presents current recommendations and guidelines of professional societies (ČSARIM, ČSIM) as well as information focused on education and reports from meetings and conferences.

All submitted papers are peer-reviewed. The peer-review process is conducted electronically and is blinded to the authors. The final decision regarding publication is made by the managing editor.

The papers are submitted in electronic form via the Actavia editorial system.
