    伊马替尼是晚期胃肠间质瘤（GIST）患者的标准治疗药物。研究者回顾分析了BFR14试验中关于中断伊马替尼治疗后再次给药对晚期GIST患者影响的数据。
    分析结果显示：1. 非侵袭性GIST患者使用伊马替尼1、3、5年后停药与疾病进展风险增加相关，甚至对于完全应答的患者也是如此。2. 大部分患者再次接受伊马替尼治疗能恢复肿瘤控制，但是很少能达到中断前的应答水平。3. 连续使用伊马替尼的患者，长期肿瘤控制率较高，而且控制率随着治疗时间延长逐渐增加。研究还表明，GIST患者接受伊马替尼辅助治疗的持续时间对转移有重要影响。
    研究者结论认为，对伊马替尼有应答的晚期GIST患者停止伊马替尼治疗与疾病进展风险增加有关。尽管再次给药是停用伊马替尼后病情恶化患者的一种治疗策略，但肿瘤应答不佳提示需要连续的激酶抑制才能达到最好的临床结果。对“高风险”的GIST患者推荐使用3年的伊马替尼辅助治疗，然而更长的持续时间可能会提供额外的好处。（Ann Oncol. 2012 Jul;23（7）：1659-65. Epub 2012 Feb 21）
