JAMA Ophthalmol:血液中微量金属元素的含量与青光眼的发生有关

来自加利福尼亚大学的Shan C. Lin博士及其同事探究了身体内5种微量金属元素(锰、汞、铅、镉、砷)的含量与青光眼发病率之间的关系。血液或尿液中金属元素的含量以及眼部疾病有关的数据来源于参加2008年1月至2009年12月第四届韩国全国健康和营养调查的2680名韩国人。

校正潜在的混杂因素后,分析结果发现,血液中低水平的锰及高水平的汞与青光眼的高发病率有关。而血铅、血镉或尿砷的水平则与青光眼的发生并无关联。

作者在文中写道,“仍需要前瞻性的研究以确定这些金属元素与青光眼发病之间的关系,并探究微量金属元素在青光眼的发病机制中所起的作用及可能的神经保护作用,这将为青光眼的管理带来新的治疗方法。”
