比较结果发现，儿童期接受过GH治疗的患者，卒中风险显著增高。增加的卒中风险主要来自于出血卒中的发生，其标准化的发病比（SIR）为3.5-7.0，而其中蛛网膜下腔出血的发生率又尤其高，SIR达5.7-9.3。

这一结果提示，出血性卒中与儿童期使用GH治疗单纯性生长激素缺乏或儿童期矮小症间有很强的相关性。因此，全球范围内接受过GH治疗的患者均应知晓这一相关性。未来人们还需进一步研究以评估GH治疗与卒中风险间的潜在因果关系。
