研究共招募了136名年龄在20-40岁的女性,包括65名低髋和71髋高BMD的受试者。使用液相色谱-质谱(LC-MS)方法评估血清代谢物。分别使用偏最小二乘判别分析(PLS-DA)方法和逻辑回归模型来检查代谢组学谱和个体代谢物与BMD的关联。

结果,低和高BMD组可以通过PLS-DA检测的血清代谢物来区分(P= 0.008)。共有14种代谢物,包括7种氨基酸和氨基酸衍生物,5种脂质(包括3种胆汁酸)和2种有机酸,与低BMD的风险明显相关。大多数代谢物是新发现的,因为既往未发现其与BMD相关。包括新鉴定的代谢物的预测模型明显改善了低和高BMD的组的分类。没有和有代谢物的受试者操作特征曲线下面积分别为0.88(95%CI:0.83-0.94)和0.97(95%CI:0.94-0.99)(P = 0.0004)。

综上所述,该研究结果表明,代谢组学分析可以改善高加索女性骨质疏松症的风险预测。我们的研究结果还表明氨基酸和胆汁酸在骨骼健康中代谢的潜在重要性。
