【1】稀苹果汁治疗轻度胃肠炎儿童效果好


加拿大的研究人员对6〜60个月患有胃肠炎轻度脱水的儿童进行了研究。

这些参与者被随机分配接受接受颜色匹配的半强度苹果汁/偏爱饮料(n=323)治疗或苹果味的电解质维护液(n=324)治疗。口服补液疗法遵循制度协议。入院后,苹果汁/偏爱饮料组按要求服用相应的液体;电解质维护液组用电解质维护液代替损失的液体。

在647例随机分配的儿童中(平均年龄28.3个月;男孩331例[51.1%];441(68.2%)例未见脱水),644例(99.5%)完成随访。服用稀释苹果汁的儿童治疗失败率比服用电解质维护液的低(16.7% vs 25%,差异,−8.3%; 97.5% CI, −∞至−2.0%;非劣效性P < 0.001,优越性P =0 .006)。给予苹果汁/偏爱饮料的儿童更少接受静脉补液(2.5% vs 9.0%;差异,-6.5%;99%CI,-11.6%至-1.8%)。住院率和腹泻和呕吐的频率无显著组间差异。

在轻度胃肠炎和轻度脱水儿童中,初始口服稀苹果汁然后饮用偏爱的饮料时,与电解质维护液方案相比,会有更少的治疗失败。在许多高收入国家中,在轻度胃肠炎和轻度脱水的儿童中,使用稀释苹果汁和偏爱饮料可能是替代电解质维护液方案的一个合适的选择。(文章详见——JAMA:稀苹果汁治疗轻度胃肠炎儿童效果好

【2】苹果有利于心血管健康

英国牛津大学的研究人员在新一期《英国医学杂志》上报告说,他们利用数学模型推算出,如果全英国50岁以上的中老年人都能坚持每天吃一个苹果,则一年可减少8500例因心脏病或中风等心血管疾病引发的死亡。

这个效果已经接近服用药物的效果。分析显示,如果这些中老年人每天服用他汀类降胆固醇药物,一年也不过减少9400例相关死亡。

领导这项研究的亚当·布里格斯说,上述结果证明这句一百多年前的谚语至今仍有指导意义,看似微小的饮食改变就能给身体带来好处。但可惜的是,对于现代人每天至少应吃5种蔬菜水果的健康建议,却很少有人能真正做到。(文章详见——BMJ:“一天一苹果”有利心血管健康

【3】每天吃一个苹果可防动脉硬化

一项小规模的研究显示,如果健康人每天吃一个苹果,持续四周,就能使血液中动脉硬化相关物质——氧化低密度脂蛋白减少40%。

为了进行该项研究,美国俄亥俄州州立大学的研究人员对51名、不吸烟的成年人进行了研究,这些人的年龄介于40至60岁,过去都没有特别吃苹果、保健食品的习惯。

研究人员把他们分为三组,有16人每天吃一个苹果,另有17人每天吃194毫克多酚胶囊,还有18人则食用安慰剂。研究结果显示,吃苹果的效果要比仅吃多酚萃取物好,这可能是苹果含有其他生物活性物质,有助于养分吸收。

该研究显示,每天只要吃一个苹果,连续吃四周,就能减少低密度脂蛋白氧化现象。研究人员指出,每天吃一个苹果,要会比食用姜黄素萃取物、绿茶萃取物、蕃茄萃取物更能有效降低氧化低密度脂蛋白。(文章详见——J Functl Foods:每天吃一个苹果可防动脉硬化

【4】吃苹果有助于降低患糖尿病风险

在这项得到美国国家卫生研究院资助的研究中,哈佛大学公共卫生学院的研究者跟踪了约20万名卫生领域专业人士近24年的饮食习惯。研究对象需定期完成调查问卷,回答自己某些食品和饮料的消费状况。

在研究开始前,所有研究对象均未患糖尿病。但在研究期间,共有1.26万人报告患II型糖尿病。剔除其他因素后研究人员发现,吃蓝莓最多的人群(即每周至少进食456克蓝莓)患II型糖尿病的风险比吃蓝莓最少的人(每月进食不足114克蓝莓)低23%。每周吃至少5个苹果者患II型糖尿病的风险比不吃苹果者也要低23%。(文章详见——AJCN:常吃蓝莓和苹果者有助于降低患糖尿病风险

【5】苹果可帮助减肥

实验人员从智利公共卫生研究所里购买了体重29g的雄性CF1小鼠,置于标准条件(22°C ± 2°C)、规律的白天-黑夜周期下的隔离环境中进行调整,在测试前可以自由获取食物和水。之后,他们将小鼠分为实验组和对照组,隔离和实验期间(40天),动物以小组活动。

实验分别准备了六种苹果提取物:有机富士(OF)、传统富士(TF)、有机澳洲青苹(OGS,Granny Smith)、传统澳洲青苹(TGS)、收获季节的苹果(富士和澳洲青苹)皮,切成小块,浸泡在含水80%的乙醇中6个小时。同时,使用了两种饮食类型:正常饮食(ND)和脂肪饮食(FD)。FD中增加的卡路里辅之以植物油和动物脂肪,添加了维生素和蛋白质来平衡维生素、矿物质和蛋白质数量。ND和FD之间的饮食区别主要体现在脂质含量,ND为3%,FD则为28%。

结果显示,心、肝、肾和腓肠肌的血脂结果都没有显著差异,只有内脏白色脂肪组织(WAT)表现出显著的体重差异,这恰恰是引起肥胖症的症结所在。

研究中动物食用的提取物降低了总胆固醇和LDL胆固醇含量,增加了HDL胆固醇含量,WAT的减少发挥了关键作用。

学者提出,苹果及其提取物可抑制胆固醇的吸收,这种效应可能是由于肠道的脂质吸收抑制作用和对脂质水解的抑制;另一方面,苹果及其提取物干预了胆固醇的代谢。因此,经常使用吃苹果有利于维持心血管疾病治疗之后的效果。(文章详见——苹果帮助你减肥的秘诀在哪里

【6】苹果对机体有益

研究者Paul Kroon同其研究团队研究表明,绿茶和苹果中的多酚类化合物可以阻断一种名为VEGF的信号分子,该分子在机体中会诱发动脉粥样硬化,同时其也是某些抗癌药物的新型靶点。在机体中,VEGF是血管发生的主要诱导子,血管发生对于癌症进展非常重要,同时其也对粥样硬化斑块的形成非常重要,斑块破裂则会诱发机体患心衰和中风。

利用来自人类血管的细胞进行研究,研究人员表明,来自绿茶中的低浓度多酚绿茶提取物(Epigallocatechin Gallate,EGCG)及来自苹果中的原花青素可以阻断VEGF的关键信号功能。通过食物中的多酚类化合物抑制VEGF信号在此前的研究中已经进行过,而本文研究则提供了新的研究证据,即多酚类化合物可以直接干预VEGF信号来对其进行阻断,当你吃完富含多酚类的食物后你就会在机体血液中明显观察到其水平升高了。(文章详见——MNFR:绿茶苹果为何对机体有益?科学家提供新证据
