咽喉部残留分泌物、浅麻醉下吸痰几乎是最常见出现喉痉挛的场合了，多数在拔管时出现。临床上发现只要紧闭的喉部进入一丝氧气，就能打破喉痉挛的缺氧-喉痉挛-缺氧恶性循环。

与加压面罩通气不同，胸外按压类似于呼气，压迫胸内残余的气体“冲破”咽喉，一样也能达到快速缓解的效果。
