研究人员用重组PAD2和PAD4对纤维蛋白原进行瓜氨酸化。用浑浊度测量法研究了含cFBG或天然纤维蛋白原的纤维蛋白原缺乏血浆中cFBG对纤维蛋白结构的影响。研究结果显示，PAD2以剂量依赖性地降低纤维蛋白原的瓜氨酸化，还降低了纤维蛋白聚合的速度，同时，降低了纤维蛋白的整体止血能力，降低了纤维蛋白形成的最大速度，并降低了纤维蛋白的质量/长度比，以及降低了纤维蛋白凝块的溶解率。

研究结果表明，PAD2对纤维蛋白原的瓜氨酸化不仅影响纤维蛋白聚合，而且影响纤维蛋白纤维的性质，提示cFBG存在时形成的纤维蛋白网络可能影响止血反应。我们的结果表明，纤维蛋白原的瓜氨酸化改变了纤维蛋白纤维的组成，从而可能导致纤维蛋白网络更松散，更容易发生纤维蛋白溶解，从而影响止血平衡。
