2型糖尿病（T2DM）与牙周炎有关。我们研究了日本老年人牙科随访与糖尿病状况的关系。

分析了接受系统健康检查的14，551名75岁或80岁的受试者。牙科访问情况的三个独立变量根据牙科治疗数据进行调查，包括是否接受牙科治疗，牙科治疗类型（无访问，牙周治疗或其他牙科治疗）和牙周治疗天数（0，1 -4或≥5天）。我们进行了多元逻辑和线性回归分析，以检查牙科访问情况与糖尿病状况之间的关系。与没有接受牙科治疗的患者相比，接受牙周治疗的受试者T2DM的多变量比值比（OR）显着较低（0.74，95％置信区间：0.66-0.82）。接受牙周治疗的受试者，无论治疗天数如何，T2DM均显着降低。在多变量线性回归模型中，接受牙周治疗与A1c的降低相关（p <0.05）。

结论：日本老年人接受牙周治疗与糖尿病状况相关。
