近日,来自俄亥俄州立大学综合癌症研究中心的研究人员通过研究揭示,一种当前用于治疗心脏、血管及肾脏疾病的药物—多巴胺或许可以安全用于癌症治疗中,来遏制肿瘤组织血管的生长,相关研究发表于国际杂志International Journal of Cancer上。

文章中,研究者通过研究表明,多巴胺可以抑制两种动物模型机体血管的生长,同时并不会引发严重的副作用。此外,多巴胺还可以抑制因5-氟尿嘧啶引发的血液中中性白细胞数量的减少,5-氟尿嘧啶是一种常用于治疗胃肠道及其它肿瘤的化疗制剂,比如结肠癌胃癌胰腺癌等。

研究者Sujit Basu说道,本文研究中我们首次揭示了,廉价药物多巴胺在临床用于抑制血管生成时并不会引发严重的副作用,由于多巴胺常用于临床中治疗其它障碍,因此本 文研究或将快速转化到临床中用于癌症病人的治疗。早期研究中研究者揭示,多巴胺可以通过抑制血管表皮生长因子A(VEGF-A)的活性来阻断肿瘤中新生血 管的生长。

VEGF-A诱导的血管发生在实体瘤发生、生长以及恶化过程中扮演者重要作用,而且当前临床所用的抗血管生成的药物都具有抗VEGF-A的活性,本 文研究指出,多巴胺或可有效用于治疗患者的癌症。后期研究人员还需要进行更为深入的研究来证实多巴胺治疗癌症患者的安全性及有效性。
